Instrument Condition Ratings and Abbreviations
We make every effort attempt to supply accurate descriptions of our merchandise for sale. We still believe that an "in-hand" description is by far the best. Please call or email if you would like details on a particular instrument.
Key to Abbreviations:
- ca. - circa, approximate date
- sn. - serial #
- OHSC - original hard case
- HSC - non-original hard case
- OSSC - original soft case
- SSC - non-original soft case
Key to Condition:
- MINT - like new
- EX - excellent, may have some dings or tiny cosmetic marks but very clean overall, no repairs unless noted
- VG - very good, a solid instrument that may display minor wear or other minor cosmetic damages, may have repairs noted but should be very playable
- GC - good condition, playable and solid, may be worn, cosmetically flawed or repaired
- AS IS - not returnable, sold with repairs needed, priced accordingly
Key to Condition of Paper and Related Items:
- Mint - almost like new
- VG - very good, some slight tears or markings
- FC - fair condition, all there, may be tattered or somehow damaged but usually just worn from use
- PC - poor, all there unless noted but in sad shape
